FIDM Interior Design Alumna Meg Joannides of MLK Studio Wins Interior Design Magazine?s Best of Year Honor

Meg Joannides of MLK Studio was recently awarded with Interior Design magazine?s Best of Year: Resort House honor, along with Belzberg Architects in Los Angeles, for her work on a home on the Big Island of Hawaii. The residence, located in the traditional enclave of Hualalai, on the lava-rich side of the island, comprises 8,000 square-feet of pavilions on a one-acre site above the Pacific Ocean.
The contemporary home features bold forms, slide-away walls, warm and cool materials, and reclaimed teak. Meg created a powder room with an impressive orchid mosaic mural and the furnishings in the house are all custom pieces from MLK Studio. There is an indoor and outdoor feel, with numerous oversize windows, an infinity pool that is just steps from the living area, and natural materials.
Meg studied Interior Design at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and is known for a modern and elegant style. Her firm is full-service and specializes in designing exquisite spaces that are user-friendly and livable. Her residential projects range from Los Angeles to Toronto to Dubai and her commercial portfolio includes Polo Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss, among others.
