fiance visa……any ideas? advice? thanks?
hi all. i am going to be starting the process of a fiance visa for my fiance that is currently in beirut and will be moving soon to uae for work.i will be getting a lawyer to help me….any idea how long this process takes? we dont plan on living here in the usa *california but my mother insists that the wedding take place here (wants to make things more difficult than they already are) so the plan is for him to get the visa cme here get married then go back to uae.does he have to stay here for a period of time before we can travel back to dubai? any ideas? any advice would be appreciated.
i am so stressed because i miss him so much & my mom is making things so hard……i just wish i could go and get a civil marriage there in cyprus then come have a wedding here and go live in dubai..but u know how some old fashion arab families are…..i swear i feel like im going to explode from all the stress i have…i just wish things could be alot easier.

The only restriction that I’ve come across so far is that a fiance visa is only good for so many months (can’t remember if it’s 2 or 6), but the holder must get married within that time and either file for an immigrant visa/extension, or leave the country again. I never came across anything saying he would have to wait a set amount of time first. Hope this helps

It takes 7-9 months for the Lebanon/ California combination for fiance visa. Civil marriage in Cyprus isn’t going to speed things up. Marriage visas take about the same amount of time.

he will have to wait in lebanon while the fiance visa is filed he cannot travel it can take up to 90 days to be approved and trust me you want him to come here.. you may think not right now but you will regret it later trust me I speak from experience. mabrouk on your marriage :)
one more thing get a lawyer have your fiance send you about 500.00 this is what my lawyer charges and find a good lebanese lawyer to take care of this.
