Employed in UAE from last 5 years?

My younger brother is 26 year old and working in Dubai. He has a bachelor degree and Post graduate diploma (Retail) as qualification.He has started his career in DUBAI as Customer Care Associate and currently working as Store In charge with a big fashion & sport apparel retail store. He is with the same company from last five years and have not changed the company so-far. He is earning approx 5000 United Arab Emirates dirham every month with 1 month paid leave annually. He was promoted 3 times in last 5 years and have got appreciation from management several times.He got his driving licence 1 year back and now has a self-owned car.
My questions :
1). Is he underpaid as per the retail job trend in Dubai?
2). What position is appropriate for him after “Store In charge”
3). How much should he be earning?

he is definitely underpaid if there are no additional perks associated with it.

This amount of salary is average. Make a survey & you will find several people being paid around five thousand. Based on the current situation there are some qualified people ready to work even for AED. 3000.

Without any offence and please don’t call me being racist, just face reality. In the UAE you will get paid regarding nationality first and I assume your brother is an Indian national.
Of course your brother is underpaid big times, but problem is that if he would demand AED 10.000, many other Indians standing in line to take over for AED 5.000 and assuming that his boss is an Indian national also means he doesn’t have any chance to increase his salary in this particular company.
Only way out: your brother has to look for a new suitable employment with an attractive salary package.
Did your brother ever ask for a salary increase when promoted? Sorry never heard about “store in charge” before. It should be store’s manager, but your brother has a diploma only and no degree. Therefore he should ask at least for AED 7.000 + provided housing and transportation.
