Armani soon become famous for designing and tailoring for big Hollywood actors in the 1970’s and 1980’s. And was the first designer to be on the cover of time magazine since Christian Dior in 1982. Armani later began producing for the United States, and his label became one of the leading names in fashion. Armani’s company also began to create perfumes, Armani Junior, Armani jeans and Emporir Armani lines followed by undearwear, swimwear and accessories. In addition to designing Armani is an avid sports fan and designed suits for the England national football team
In the early 1990’s Armani extended his brand into multiple categories. In the 1990’s he opened his chain of Armani cafes and developed a new fragrance. Armani also opened his first restaurant in the U.S, Armani/ Ristororante. other of his businesses include upscale furniture, Armani branded Dolci( confectionary) and Armani branded Fiori ( flowers). He even stuck a deal with Dubai to open an Armani hotel and resorts by 2011.
