(PRWEB) April 1, 2004

Al Fares Dubai 2004, the 5th International Equine Trade Fair which will be held from 6-8 December, 2004 at Dubai International Exhibition Centre is on course to confirm its reputation as the “best and the biggest” trade fair on horse products and services in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. More than 50% of the exhibition space has already been booked or reserved.

UK Trade & Investment has once again released funds to the British Equestrian Trade Association to assist British exhibitors participating in Al Fares Dubai 2004. The number of British companies in the show is expected to increase by atleast 25%.

For the first time in the history of Al Fares Dubai, UBIFRANCE – a French government organisation responsible for promoting the foreign trade of France – has included the show in its official programme of overseas exhibitions to be attended. The participation by French companies will be subsidised by UBIFRANCE. This is expected to double the French participation in Al Fares Dubai 2004.

For the first time again, ICEX – a Spanish government organisation responsible for promoting the foreign trade of Spain – has released funds to the Association of Pure Bred Spanish Horses for its maiden participation in Al Fares Dubai 2004.

Major participation is also expected from Scandinavian countries, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, BENELUX countries, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA.

Al Fares Dubai 2004 has been officially supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation and Emirates Racing Association. The organisers are being assisted by a higher organising committee comprising Dr. Ahmed Billah, Veterinary Consultant, Dr. Ali Arab, ex-Director of Animal Wealth, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Mr. Satish Seemar, three times champion trainer during the last five seasons, Eng. Khalfan Abdulazeez Al Suweidi and Dr. Salah Al Sukary, both from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

“Dubai is the undisputed equestrian centre of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia”, said Mr. Khanna. Godolphin, the biggest and the most successful racing operation in the history of flat racing, is owned by the ruling family of Dubai, the Maktoums. It participates in every major race of the world and has won over 100 Group 1 races so far. The Arab equine renaissance started by the Maktoum family through Godolphin has firmly placed Dubai on the equestrian map of the world.

The annually held Dubai World Cup (the richest horse race in the world) and FEI UAE World Cup Endurance Ride, upgradation of several races to Group 1, development of exclusive resorts for horse lovers, excellent performance by Dubai on the international polo circuit, launching of the Emirates Series to determine the best race horse in the world, consistent growth in the number of stables, horses, horse owners and riding schools, world class veterinary hospitals and growth in other equestrian sports polo and show jumping signify Dubai’s growing passion with horse and horsemanship.

Dubai Racing Carnival, a nine week racing bonanza with a prize money of US$ 21 million, has taken the racing world by storm and is yet another feather in Dubai’s cap.

“Dubai is definitely at the centre of the fastest growing equine market of the world”, said Mr. Satish Seemar.

This will be reflected during Al Fares Dubai 2004.

Riding on the success of the last three shows, Al Fares Dubai 2004 has been developed around a distinct philosophy that is based on providing a top class exhibition, education and entertainment. While the exhibition will showcase the entire range of equine products and services, the education segment will include a number of seminars and demonstrations on total horse management, pain, new products & services, nutrition, horse psychology, injuries, diseases, training & exercising, breeding, breaking, grooming, shoeing and horse examination. Entertainment will include a polo match, pony rides on Shetland ponies, equine fashion show, show jumping, pavilions on “Breeding and Show Horses”, “Kids & Horses” and “Wild West”, visits to stables, equine galleries and films.A horse auction and an international conference on equine nutrition is also being planning.

“Al Fares Dubai 2004 will provide an unmatched opportunity to generate sales, locate new agents/distributors, increase brand awareness, explore business & investment opportunities, identify export markets, locate partners for JVs and tie ups, enhance corporate image and meet industry leaders. While Al Fares Dubai 2004 will be open to the general public in the evenings, about 20000 trade buyers from Africa, the Middle East, CIS countries and South Asia will be invited to the show”, said Mr. Khanna.

A massive promotion campaign is underway to market the show worldwide. “Al Fares Dubai 2004, the oldest show on horse and equipment in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, is headed for a record breaking success”, concluded Mr. Satish Khanna.
